I suggest I put my fighting turkey up against his 5 puppies and see how things go, IF the turkey loses then the dogs have to face Krax the servant beater!


Actually I cant come up with a challenge Very Happy if this isnt excepted, except i slay everyone starting with the late retard newcomers.


I do agree with my man Harkon, even though I am a female dwarf the first idea sounds gay! we are warriors!

21 Granite, 552 AGE OF HARKON

Chapter 1, Doors.
Haaa fooled you, no doors for you! This chapter is called “many small problems on the horizon”.

The overseer is stopid! Long live the overseer!

After the very short election Harkon was made the Overseer and he has “Great plans” for our “Great fortress”.

~Harkon’s dairy~

First agenda point: no more puppy butchering.
Second: More farms and stills!
(here are some plans, they will be places at a secure area above ground.)

Hold on a second agenda, someone is screaming though the halls again, and as the new SUPREME OVERSEER it’s my job to find out why.

~A short while later~
Alright so apparently these dwarfs found “Bloodstone” I haven’t got the slightest clue what that is but I will let them make crafts with it, if possible.
Also very important news, 2 puppies are born. They will be fed and pampered and trained into war dogs for my own private army!

I don’t like talking to those dwarfs so I will just give them this order for my new sleeping chambers

An unimportant dwarf named Iteb is being followed around by angry badger boars, but we don’t got a militia to get rid of them so he will have to fend for himself.
Good thing he is holding a door.. Greed might help him out..

20th Slate 552

The one of them approached me saying that he was called “Mosus”.

Mosus: Hail fellow dwarf, I was told you’re the acting overseer for this fine outpost! My name is Mosus.
Harkon: You can’t fool me we already got a Mosus what is your real name!
Mosus: erm.. what?
Harkon: got any brewers with you?
Mosus why yes we do, Rakus is a masterful brewer. Rumor has it he even has a secret recipe, but please don’t ask him about it. He’s not very assertive so I thought himself to just run away when someone asks about it.

Not even 10 second after this “Mosus” guy had ended his sentence I could see Jai standing with a surprised look and Rakus running off into the distance, Jai had been eavesdropping again.

Harkon: any other dwarfs you need to warn me about?
Mosus: well, not necessarily warn but I would recommend to let Urist only do hauling jobs.
Harkon: why? Is he stupid?
Mosus: yes.
Jai: Hello Hello Hello! I’m just done looking for new recruits and I must say there are many promising fighters.
Mosus: yes, that the reason we could stay with so many dwarf while wandering through the wilderness looking for a new home.
Jai: what happen to your old home?

At this point I walked back to my “office” to write some new orders.
This will become a serious problem, we need a caravan full of booze soon!
The meat supply will be refilled with the flesh of their pets. BUT NEVER THE DOGS!

OC a short chapter but the immigrants gave me enough work and inspiration!

A overseer is not a peasant. He deserves his own grave with statues and engravings of his great deeds. He is above the normal folk.

REAL nobility however is scum of the earth and should be treated as such.

Best way is to turn them into miners or pump operators. Since we don't have pumps I suggest letting them spare with each other until you get more pickaxes.

Give them to the recruits and tell the regular miners to do something else. Let them mine for a year and they'll become extra mighty.

Chapter 2, WORK OR DIE.

~Harkon’s temporarily office~

Harkon: Urist get me a blueprint of the fortress!
Urist: uuuh..
Harkon: Urist get paper with pretty drawing!
Urist: yaaay!

As Urist runs off to get me the blueprint i can’t help thinking by myself what a useful little helper he is, dumb as a rock but very useful.
While Urist is looking for the blueprints I over think the current situation of the fort.

Food and Drinks
-The booze supply is steadily growing.
-Plants will be a temporarily substitute for meat.
-more Pots and barrels are being made.
-additional farming plots are being created but we are all out of seeds.
Housing
-got rid of the old inefficient room plans and replaced it with more sensible “Spine” architecture.

-the SUPER EMPEROR OVERSEER sleeping quarters haven’t been changed, but I might add a zoo in the future.
Work
-Ii have put all the dwarfs to work, every dwarf that has experience to any degree in any task is forced to perform that task.
-there are still around 11 dwarfs idling around in the hallways!

Urist: YAAAAAAAAAAAY *barges in the office carrying around 5 puppies*
Harkon: what do you got there?
Urist: Puwwies!
Harkon: you idiot those are puppies, leave them here and get me the pretty paper!
Urist: owww *runs off again*

Then there is that, the most promising glimmer of hope in the fort. Puppies are still being born, around 4 – 5 new ones in total. Urist shares my excitement and that’s what makes him a good assistant.
A piece of paper was shoved under my door not too long ago. It was from Rakust, he begged for a personal still AND a personal farm plot with farmer.
He’s demands are ridiculous and were he a ordinary brewer I would have fed him to the dogs, but his booze is truly masterful so his demands will be met.
At least this will give him some breathing space from Jai, Broomstick and Docim(the guy with the Poult).

-Rakust has been appointed a Still far enough from other dwarfs but still at a safe distance.




Urist Pawwer pawwer pawwer! *barges in the office with rolls of paper*
Harkon: it’s called paper you idiot, now put them on the table so I can begin studying them.
Urist: uuuh..
Harkon: Paper to the table now!


While Urist drops the paper on the table a loud scream comes from the hallway.
Greed rushes in the room and throws himself on the pile of paper.
Greed: Nooo! It’s not finished! Nobody may see my final blueprint for the new doors!
Harkon: what new doors! What is this nonsense! Why did you barge into my room without my permission!
Greed: Overseer! My apologies I didn’t realize this shack was your office, I simply followed this loon that ran into my room and took all my paper! I’m telling you sir, if I had a door this wouldn’t have happened. So that’s why I will start my career as mason and will create the best doors ever crafted by dwarf
Urist throws himself in to the pile of paper as well.
Urist: PAWWER!

-Greed has been appointed a masonry workshop and will create doors till the end of his life or until he is bored.

Harkon went to visit the workshops and was followed by 7 pets!

Meanwhile dwarfs throughout the fort.

~Southern Bridge~

With a sharpened battleaxe and impatiently waiting for the bridge to be lowered stands Corey. He has one goal and that is to get out there and swing his axe with all his might.
He observes the field before him picking his priority targets.
With a mighty blow the first one is down, he rushes through to field and fells another one.

Corey: *whisles* I’m a lumberdwarf and I’m oké, I drink all night and I work all day!

~Workshop and storage area~

Cog: pull your left foot up.
Rakust: pulling my left foot up, get your right hand from the wall.
Geschud: moving my right hand, place your right feet away from that tile.
Cog: moving my right feet.

Cog, Rakust and Geschud had take it on themselves to detail the entire storage area, but apparently they have also decided not to take up more than 2 tiles of space. I still haven’t figured out how they do it.






~meeting/dining room~

Broomstick: there is no way you drank 15 beers without falling from you chair!
Mosus: You calling me a liar!
Apox: Stop your jibber jabbing and start drinking!
Mosus: Alright but let’s make it a contest.
Broomstick: a drinking contest, my kind of game!
Apox: All drink at the same time!

From the hall way a unknown voice yelled “Nooo!!!” and the dwarven pyramid that were Rokust, Cog and Geschud collapses.

Rokust: Stop holding those drinking contest the booze stock is already very low!

Broomstick: what’s to worry? You are an amazing brewer and rumor has it you even got a secret formula.

Rokust ran off to the far end of the hallway to continue he’s floor detailing work there.

~Rokust’s still~

Instead of picking a useful task, Lord T had decided to take it on himself to lead our “herd” to the newly appointed pastures. Where they can eat as mush grass as they want and produces little Yaks and cows for our butcher and leather workshop. but their use doesn’t end there, they also produce cheese that can contribute to our food supply.
I still wished someone like Urist would have done this instead of a Legendary Miner.

OOC: the “meanwhile in the fort” part are small stories that are based on actual location of dwarfs and their jobs.
I am trying to make this as entertaining as possible while not making up events.


The next chapter will involve blood and death.

I know little too nothing about what's going on in the fortress. That's the fun part about multiple writers on 1 fort. You'll never know what the other is going to turn the fortress into and what rooms they will make. Eventually it will become a complete maze for the both of us. All we know is what we can read in the updates.
