    Hey guys,

I got the extended demo at last, and I'm baffled at how badly optimized the game is. Probably the consequence of making a game so catered to the console fags.

I have to run absolutely everything at Low, no AA, no Filtering, and still the performance is not as fluid as it could be IMO.
I mean, I play Oblivion in the same computer with everything High, and Far distances of everything but Flora (too much Flora eats up performance a lot and I don't even like it that much) and the performance is incredible, and it looks 10x more beautiful than this shit of course.

Oh well. At least the game itself seems interesting so far. I don't really appreciate the super specialized different skill schools, kinda giving me an headache on what I should focus, lol. I'm sure many will like this RPG-truthful system, and I guess it's okay and allows for some cool stuff and diversity, I just gotta get used to it and level a lot more I guess.

I'll post a screenshot of my guy ASAP. He's Harkon, a Nord, and I tried to make him similiar to my Warband guy. I'm focusing on sword and board combat, like a true viking, and I might go a few points into dual weild for the lulz.
I'd go axe and board, but I prefer critical strike to bleeding.

Not a very good argument when you have a god-tier computer like 90% of you seem to have. Razz

The point is that Oblivion looks incredibly good on max settings and runs very well in my machine, as opposed to a all Low settings Skyrim. : ((((

I agree with you young Godnoken, it is indeed very strange. Been a while since I updated it, but yeah I have before. Good idea though, haven't done it in in like 2 months, time to check out for new drivers!

If you updated only two months ago it shouldn't matter, I haven't updated mine for months either.

I did it and it actually improved quite a bit, lol.

The auto-detect switched it from Low to Medium and it runs smoother. Yay.

Nice craftsmanship there, Spesh. I'm a smith and miner myself, am really enjoying the crafting system in the game. Too easy to level by powercrafting low-tier items, though.

@Krax, I've seen that video before, could be made by an amateur but I'm tempted to think that is might be some hidden advertisement ( which are so popular these days ) by Bethesda.

yeah the crafting is way to easy... you can hit 100 smithing with no effort at all... just making iron daggers...

Im allready playing at master and combat seems too easy.

Other things thats abit poor design is the extrem amount of money you can make with making potions... even more if you are a bard. all you need is speech to 50 or so when you can unlock sell anything to any merchant. im only 50 in making potions but i easyly made enuf to buy a house for 25k and full set of ebony and deadric armor and arms.

the game prolly had been even more easy if id taken afew block skills too.... block is damn powerful imo.

oh and the dragon/scale armor are butt ugle

I'm not saying helmets are not cool (they're pretty awesome), but in my own characters when playing a game I prefer to see the face I created all the time, makes it more immersive for me. Razz

It's a shame that you can't see the player character's face through the visor on Ebony and Daedric armor helmets, I actually prefer open helmets for the reason Harkon describes, and the deep blackness there is unrealistic and a bit cheesy for an Elder Scrolls game. Also a shame that they've restricted the vanity camera compared to Oblivion and Morrowind, I was used to for example being able to look to the sides while running.

Also, why can't you do things like look down yourself in 1st person and see your body and control your head seperately from your body ? It worked splendidly in games like Arma, OF, Hitman, Crysis etc. and as Todd Howard wants to focus on 1st person immersion this would be a logical choice.
