I got a Radeon HD 5770 1GB and a AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition + 4GB in RAM.

Runs well on Ultra high and i'm pretty sure you can run Skyrim if you can run Oblivion with a good FPS.

Mind posting yer specs?

You scandinavians all have insane computers!

2x Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT (working in SLI) (256MB GDDR3)

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6850, 3 GHz

Hm, I have no idea about the CPU since it's quite old and INTEL = Ca$h!
2 8600 GT should work fine on low atleast, not sure.. I'm more in to the generation of my computer since i put mine together myself and also to two of my friends. =)
If you could spare (Go buy a mic ffs!) you should buy a new cheap CPU and a graphic card if you had the money.
But anyhow, download the extended demo and check it out.

what the hell do you mean by only 3 useable explain hehe...

do you run with corupted ram or are you talking about the addressing overhead ?

alot of ppl have made the mistake of putting in two 1gig memory GFX cards in crossfire on a 32bit system.... that will eat 2 gigs of your total 4gig....

32bit = 4,294,967,296 bytes
4,294,967,296 / (1,024 x 1,024) = 4,096 MB = 4GB

64bit = 18,446,744,073,709,551,616
18,446,744,073,709,551,616 / (1,024 x 1,024) = 16EB (exabytes)

Main Memory = 4GB - 256MB - GFX card RAM - Other Devices

the only reason i dont run 64 bit is the way M$ did the drivers part... you can only use signed drivers on the system.... but i prolly will change over soon as its alot better now than it was ayear ago.

ok since this seems to be the thread to talk about computers I will just post it here Very Happy

I am rebuilding an old computer for my brother and the only thing missing to put in its ram ... he has 2X OCZ DDR2 1GB 800MHz (usually i would bought the same ram but they don't manufacture it anymore and can't find anyone selling it)

so basically my question is what ram will be compatible with this one or is it best to re buy new one?

still got 2 slots to fill Very Happy

Re: Skyrim and Elder Scrolls

Post  Krax on Sat Nov 12, 2011 8:46 pm

depends on the motherboard really hehe

aslong as they are DDR2 it prolly work

id personaly go with someone on the same Mhz and stepping to be sure tho. since well same children play.....

list of ddr2 rams
http://ramlist.i4memory.com/ddr2/

Higher performance DDR2 DIMMs are compatible with lower performance DDR2 DIMMs; however, the higher performance module runs at the lower module's frequency. Using lower performing DDR2 memory in a system capable of higher performance results in the bus running at the rate of the lowest performance memory in use; however, in many systems this performance hit can be mitigated to some extent by setting the timings of the memory to a lower latency setting.

the model name of those RAM you have is PC2-6400 so id get some more 6400 since the others within the DDR2 are lower bus speed and will slowdown the system

the only model faster within ddr2 is PC2-8500 but you can use those since they will trottle back to the lower speed of the others

Oh yeah, thanks a lot Krax. You're a genius with this sort of thing!

So, it is normal that only 3 are "usable"? No incompatibility issue or so?

yes its due to the fact that there isnt more than 4gigs of addresses in a 32bit system....

if you had win7 64bit your system had said 4gig useable.

Skyrim has very low system reqs, they seem to have optimized the engine a lot since Oblivion and I'm currently running it on an old system on high settings ( but with no AA ).

Great game the little I've had time to play so far despite the retarded menu system.

visualy the game is just stunning imo..... sometimes after a fight you just stand there and look how nice it looks.... no game is even close to this... the blizzard on top of the mountains are just so damn well crafted. there are some many small details in this game that makes it great....

Also i love how they allways force you to do some "evil"

but i still hate the fucking menu system,,,, its like 10 steps back from oblivian.... well atleast that will prolly be fixed in a mod soon.

Several times iv walked out on a overhang high up in the mountain just to look out over the lands...

now all they need to do in VI is make a solid fighting system... AND A NEW FUCKING MWNU SYSTEM ! hehe

Very satisfying to hear, Angantyr. I don't mind no AA really, its effect isn't ever important to me.
