Also. Pick your ruler between the 14th and the 16th. You guys want us all to play uniformly counts or dukes? There are big differences there as there are dukes who get to be King within one generation and those who are barely more than a count...

It's not a vanilla eu3 gaem, it's with a mod that extends time and shaite, called Death and Taxes. The AI is harder, everything is harder.

My pick is the count of Rama, it'll be a tough time to expand for me, but with lot's of excitement and plots. And to be as far away from you warmongering bastards Razz

Playing the modded game is very proper, have you guys tried Magna Mundi, the epitome of EU3 modding?

Count of Rama. Portugal. I hope these places are not too distant to be irrelavant to the multiplayer campaign. Playing the game you will see that it is not feasible to send troops far away because of the cost (ships especially). Interaction is thus strongly limited.

Titan please spam less and edit your posts instead. People dont take you and those one liners serious. This is not facecrook.

Starting at 4 PM GMT seems good in the weekend. Fridays are no good for me.

@ Amon, I'm not entirely sure what to pick. Denmark and Bohemia seem like fun choices as well!

we're playing a modded version that 10 to 12 players can actually run at speed 3.

And yes being too far apart will cause trouble. Not if we make big empires of our own that is Very Happy.

By my calculations we'll be 10-11, hopefully that'll work okay.

Else, down with Titan's friends of course.

Well, i'd prefer to play an underdog. So, I'll probably be eliminated quickly.
I've been thinking:
Gudrød Crovan of the Western Isles
or the Republic of Jämtland (if possible)
Also, to play as the heathen Jarl, Erik of the old Swedish dynasty.

You could be Crovan, then we could be mighty allies and conquer the British isles for ourselves!

Erilaz, you sadly cannot play republics at all.

The only way to play a heathen is to be converted after you started out as a cath/orth or having a heathen heir. Same for Heretics.

Overall I guess these are fine choices but we might want to refrain from playing Kings or powerful soon-tobe-king-dukes. Takes away some sense of achievement from working your way up in a dangerous multiplayer environment. Hmm we could for instance all start out as lowly counts. Run the game with high speed unless wartime and see who can truly make the best out of 1/2 provinces.

Playing a count can be dull at times though, depending where you reside. Dukes are more balanced between their options and risks.

Its up for internet discussion.

I'll play as the duke of Iceland if we're having a rule against playing as kingdoms.

Or Connacht.

I will probably play a duke/count in central Europe, close to the action - but as always I will give you guys first picks. My hometown is in church hands at the time, so it is not a valid choice. Take your time and look at the dynasties / characters. Which you will be able to do after release. Dont go after a powerful choice but one that catches your eye. Best not spoil it for yourself though by overly playing that dynasty before we start...

I did not mean to imply establishing rules already, but feel free to discuss things like:

-Limit starting choices by rank/geography?
-Disallow certain forms / spamming of assasinations? (like when there is no heir/kids, although...minors are fair game!)
-how many % of players have to be present to play
-which day to host the weekly game (host avaibility has some weight here naturally)
-no matildine land grab?

discuss.

Hello there!

I've just finished the demo as Poland, I loved it! Smile I am looking forward to wednesday. By the way, since it seems so many have already ordered their copy from GG, is it safe to assume that's where I should order from as well?

Who's mother?

I think it'd be more fun if we start off as smaller players so we have to fight to survive (maybe cooperate?! Shocked ).

I've no idea who I'd like to play, apart from that some Dutch family might be nice, if they're not doomed to die within the first session Razz

Yes, gamergate is actually part of the same company (at least that's what I understood) as Paradox, so... it's probably best and safest to order it there Smile

What I would like to see is that we don't play PvE but PvP. What I mean is, let's fight each other, not only help each other against computer it will be much more fun. We can do all vs Amon Razz

Yes there will be a new and orderly thread after release, but now its still too much banter.

Jur give me admin rights so I can crush any nonsense with an iron doublefist.

A solid choice, T. Titan if you want you can play Icelandic singleplayer up there. I wont mind.
