William, you thus are our willing test subject allowing us to see if both steam and gamersgate versions get along...which can change any patch Razz As discussed in this thread lengthly, we all bought the GG version for various reasons. I guess you havent been aware of this previous to your purchase.

Otherwise. The turnout is looking good, but more feedback required - otherwise I am forced to be the dictatorial decisionmaking di...dude again...hrhr

I think, Like you said earlier, that we should only play as counts or "lesser" dukes.
Also, Jämtland seems to be a county, although with elective law. So I should be able to play it.

Gave the demo a try and seems quite good. ^^

I made the mistake of trying to invade Pomerania when it was in the midst of a war, and it seems they outnumber Poland 7-1. Sad

Yeah.

You need to check the provincial levy size and watch their armies.

You often need around 1300 men only to siege a single county because of the huge garrison. A sieging force outnumbered by the defending force will not lead to any progress of course.
So fighting in the baltics you can wait till one HRE/Russian/Polish/... superstack wipes the floor with the big heathen army and then *bam* swoop in yourself.

The Heathens need considerable help by these methods since it took hundreds of years after game start to put them ... into a church! So attacking them in 1066 must be made difficult because the contemporary rulers werent able too (marshland, ferocious defenders...Jur is a troll)

perhaps being a count or duke is easier for you?

Being King is harder, control all your vassals.. and make sure you dont get raped by your neighbours Wink

LOL I know right.

In all truth, he's right though. Playing as King can be an headache, because you have to control a lot of shady vassals, while also pleasing your greedy family with titles and other benefits constantly.

I can't imagine how mindfucking it can be to play as the Emperor of the HRE... Bohemia alone had enough trouble in my game.

One unruly nephew rebelled, raised an army and usurped the county of Plzen because I didn't make him Spymaster and confronted him with a discovered plot to kill my little 13 year old son... Of course, I locked down the kid and killed him eventually. Meanwhile, my brothers tried to kill each other on a constant basis! FUN.

Tomi, I am astonished at your analytics.

I really have to scratch your name from the too dumb/lazy to live list. Hmm bumps Titan's position by one useless unit.

Depends on your experience. Starting out as a King is hard, but once you know the game you can still loose it all on a whim - ruler dies - minor takes over - commendable vassals think those are fair game - civil war.

A first multiplayer game calls for some growing into it allm being a vassal has quite the charm as you have the most plots avaible, its something entirely different than playing a king which you can do later after you've been doing well.

Yeah, despite T I am beginning to re think. I may have a look in the HRE or Italy for a smaller character, as I want to learn the game completely before attempting to conquer the world. Smile

As is only proper. He also castrated your body afterwards and fed your innards to the chicken. You didnt see since you passed out and died at some point being devoured by flesh eating half starved chicken.

Nice to see you give it a try Hengist. P'dox grand strategy is a genre of its own, I am curious how you like it.

On another note... there are some very useful hints here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?583389-General-Tips-For-Newcomers-Thread

Some of them are gamey and might spoil the game for you so always remember, play your dynasty YOUR WAY and not let efficiency dictate your play (unless you are allied to me and I need your troops for the meat grinder, discarding you afterwards like a used hankerchief holding some bad green goo slowly seeping through the fabric)

I do not hate you, I just despise you. Told you already why, its within this thread.

Damn GG put my preorder on hold after the Paypalmafia had to review the purchase and thus withheld the funds. So paypal says "we are waiting on GG" and GG probably did not even read the Paypal email. I did renew my Paypal password and everything they wanted, even called them. Still they wont stop cockblocking the purchase.

Thats what you get for using companies for "convinience".
